Welcome to ELTEK International University™
The reason for establishing ELTEK International University (EIU) is to provide our customers with a place to obtain what we believe to be accurate and current information about the electrical industry in terms of industry standards for testing and specification, information about electrical insulating materials (EIM), and Electrical Insulation Systems (EIS). Our university is for material manufacturers and end-product manufacturers. The course content is based on the point of interaction between ELTEK International Laboratories (ELTEK Labs) with the electrical industry. ELTEK International University is structured to offer courses on a wide range of topics. Many courses and classes are linked to other courses or classes.
EIU is not a real university. It is a virtual Internet format that is accessible, after registration, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The structure of this site is in a format of individual topics being presented as a course topic and sub-topics being presented as class sessions within a course. Each participant can read the content as often as needed and move throughout all courses and classes in any manner.
EIU was developed for customers of ELTEK Labs and as such ELTEK Labs reserves the right to accept or deny registration from any applicant.
Registration is on an annual basis and continued participation will require annual renewal of registration.Course of Study
At EIU we have designed a course of study in a way that permits the constant acquisition of new information. You will be building upon a base of knowledge from the completion of your first course. Courses and course content will be revised on a continual basis as questions from our customers generate exposure to vital ideas, concepts and theories on any topic of interest. Revisions will continue during all of your time at EIU.
Our courses are separated into course levels.
- EIU 100 level courses offer a basic over-view of a subject area and are intended to be taken as an introduction to subject areas. Think of these as prerequisite courses.
- EIU 200 level courses expand on themes, concepts and theories covered in 100 level courses. For example, a 200 level course on plastics will cover the options of Thermal classifications; explaining Relative Thermal Index (RTI) values compared to Thermal Index (TI) values.
- EIU 300 level courses cover details of individual test methods, interpretation of results or other aspects of individual / specific tests.
- Courses starting with the letter “EIU-UL” are focused on UL Standards, policies, requirements or other aspects of UL programs and are available at all levels.
All Courses at EIU are Completely Interactive
Course expansion and improvements are built around a Q&A structure which allows us to develop and expand the content of courses. When using ELTEK International University, your questions will help us continue to launch new courses and constantly improve course content. Please understand, only general questions will be added to the course content. Specific questions will only be addressed in personal exchanges.
Curriculum
Curriculum offerings are intended to arrange individual courses or classes into groups which have a common focus. For example, one curriculum is focused on Plastics or Polymeric materials. This curriculum will cover the general introduction of 100 level courses and then identify the 200 and 300 level courses or classes which are directly related to plastic programs and tests. Other curricula are organized for different types of materials and products.
